Oh my God, they philosophized Kenny.

Apparently, anything can provide enough material for philosophic discussion.

Almost everyone could understand that there would be discussions of the philosophy in the Matrix trilogy... maybe even Harry Potter. But now there's South Park Philosophy: You Know, I Learned Something Today. Check out the book on B&N.com or read about it here.

M'kay?

i'm not sure if this is the same series, actually, but there is a set of books out there that discusses the philosophy of pop culture - they have one on seinfeld, another on simpsons, and -- the one that caught my eye, of course -- one on buffy. the essays looked really neat, i enjoy finding a deeper meaning in my vices :P

You are correct, my dear. There are a lot of pop culture philosophy books out there and there might even be more than one group that's doing them, but the Pop Culture and Philosophy Series is the most successful (or at least has the largest line of books). Harry Potter, The Matrix, Narnia, the Simpsons, The Beatles, James Bond, Monty Python, U2, Star Wars, Woody Allen, Buffy, the Sopranos... yeah... there are quite a few. Enough for anyone on your list! I have the Harry Potter one and I've looked at the Matrix one before.
