Given language issues and the country's popularity as a destination, the China Lonely Planet guide naturally has wide appeal, but should perhaps come with a warning sticker. Turns out travellers have been trading tales on blogs and other websites about Chinese customs officers confiscating Lonely Planet's China book on the grounds that the colourings and type on a map in the guide imply Taiwan isn't part of China.Moral: read the book before you see the movie, you can't take it with you, all that jazz.
