The design for Frank Gehry's new Paris museum (meant to house the Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation) has been unvieled. Intended to look like a cloud, it is composed of various jutting glass panels. Gehry describes it as "a cloud of glass - magical, ephemeral, all transparent ... not stodgy ... I wanted to create something that every time you approach, it shows a different character depending on the light and the time of day. I wanted to emulate everything this word 'transparence' means." The project hasn't received the green light from whoever decides these things in Paris, but if it does, we'll all be putting "The Cloud" on our list of things to see by 2010.
Oh, and while we're talking about Paris, here's a lovely little piece from the NY Times about walking at night in the city of lights.
